Young Professionals
Description
If you are a geoscientist and under 35, the Young Professionals (YP) Special Interest Group is for you! Our Eastern Section AAPG YP Liaison is Merril Stypula, and you are invited to join us at events throughout the year. YP events are held at each ACE and Eastern Section annual meeting, as well as throughout the year, such as the ‘Pass the Baton’ event held on May 9, 2016 in Pittsburgh, PA in conjunction with the DPA. The YPs provide a great networking opportunity for all young geoscience professionals to stay connected. You may learn more by checking out the YP page on aapg.org or the YP Facebook page.

Call for Volunteers at ACE 2017
Want to make a lasting mark on the next generation of industry professionals while attending the 2017 AAPG ACE? Consider becoming a Meeting Partner for a middle-school, high-school, or community college teacher!
For the 100th Anniversary of AAPG, a new program is being initiated to help teacher attendees navigate the ACE activities and to build stronger connections between industry professionals (you!) and schools.
The Teacher Education Program Committee is looking for industry professionals who are willing to partner with a teacher at the meeting for a short time to answer questions, translate current industry research, talk about careers, and share ideas for bringing geoscience into the classroom.
Is this you? Then volunteer to meet with a teacher one-on-one at the convention, host a teacher for part of a day at ACE, or examine ways you can work with a teacher to support student learning into the future.
Please take 5 to 10 minutes to complete this brief volunteer survey to help make the best match with a classroom teacher: Teacher Education Program Volunteer Survey
Please contact the organizers if you have questions or would like more information.
